Standard dentures are the more traditional, and most popular, type of dentures. Even though they are still customized to fit your mouth and you can choose the shade of teeth that will be used in your dentures, standard dentures are considered to be the most basic and most affordable of dentures.
A standard denture is a basic conventional denture made using standard materials with limited tooth moulds and shades. Standard denture teeth tend to wear down at a faster rate and need to be replaced more often than precision denture teeth.
Standard dentures will fit comfortably and function acceptably well however, they are constructed using physiological averages on a non-adjustable machine meaning there are situations where precision dentures will have superior fit and function. At your consultation appointment you can ask our denturist to see the different types of teeth that would be used in a standard vs precision denture.
The teeth used in a standard denture will show wear quicker than that of the teeth used in a precision denture. Standard dentures will still last for several years with proper maintenance and care. You should always consult with your denturist immediately once you notice any changes in your dentures, this will prevent any significant oral health issues from arising. At Parada Dentures we recommend that you come in and see our denturist at least annually to h
ave your denture checked for proper fit. Contact the office today to setup your appointment.
